In the beginning, there was his word

Wayne was contracted to install a disability level-access wetroom for our family - including two disabled children.

The quote was for 12 days of work over 3 weeks at a cost of £3,900. Wayne started on October 31st, 2022.

The last visit by Wayne was on 15th December, 2022 - 7 weeks after starting. The bathroom was not finished at this point.

The amount paid by this point was £8,276 and over 28 days of work undertaken.

Endless delays; endless problems

To say the finish was poor would be an understatement! Nonetheless - for us - a functioning bathroom was essential to our family life and so we endured.

Then the delays started. The 'final finish' was delayed again - and again - for weeks and months.

But that didn't matter! Because during those delays the faults started to develop. Sadly, this is where it starts going wrong!

Let there be light water!

In February, 2023 - just 8 weeks after Wayne last visited (leaving a still unfinished bathroom!) the rain came. Or rather, the water started coming through into the room below.

The bathroom had failed. The ceiling below was destroyed. Our home was being damaged continuously by the faulty workmanship undertaken by Wayne.

And this was only the beginning of the problems.

Resistance to repairing

In the 8 weeks leading up to the first leaks appearing we had appealed to Wayne on multiple occasions to fix the issues. Promises made - and broken. Issues heard but ignored.

By the time the final letter was issued to Wayne - demanding a full refund - the list of faults was 43 bullet points long. The bathroom had been condemned by multiple tradespeople and would cost far more than we had paid to put right.

With friends like these...

Wayne employed his friend and electrician, Lee Garrett (trading as LG Electrical, of Gillingham, Dorset) to undertake all electrical work and as an additional labourer.

We have since had other electrical contractors deem his work as extremely poor and in some cases entirely dangerous. We were never provided with any electrical 'sign off'/certification as Lee Garrett is not certified as an electrician. This work was not carried out legally or properly.

The aftermath

This bathroom has now been removed. Entirely removed - including all of our new tiles, shower tray, plasterboard, ceiling, floorboards - everything. It has cost us thousands to remove and far more to have replaced by a new - competent - contractor.

The amount we have lost - including all materials that were destroyed in the removal - is over £13,000. That is £13,000 that Wayne Reed has stolen from a family with two disabled children. That is £13,000 that we intend to get back.

So if - or when - this full amount is returned to us we would be delighted to close this website and draw a firm line under our awful experience! You know where you can make payment!
